Our Story

How It All Began

St. Armands Baking Company began as a small retail cake and pastry shop in the fashionable Sarasota, Florida district known as St. Armands Key. Shortly after the Vroom family purchased the bakery in 1981, they began to focus on producing high quality breads and rolls, while transforming the business into a wholesale operation, filling the demand for fresh bakery bread by the many surrounding restaurants.

Over the years, the company widened its distribution network, and in addition to restaurants, it now serves many other food service venues such as hospitals, nursing homes, schools, office buildings, sports arenas and ball parks, as well as the finer country clubs throughout Florida.

Having outgrown two production facilities in Sarasota, the company settled in nearby Bradenton, Florida, where it sits on an 8-acre site that offers plenty of room for future expansion.

Our Facility

Our modern state of the art baking plant was designed and built specifically to produce the many delicious varieties of bread and roll bakery products our customers enjoy every day.

Inside you will find a staff of highly trained and skilled bakery professionals, who operate the large capacity mixing equipment, natural gas fired ovens, and modern cooling and packaging equipment, all while incorporating hand crafted attention to detail.

St. Armands Baking Co. is dedicated to a rigorous recurring training program for all employees focusing on global food safety standards (British Retail Consortium), and covering topics including HAACP, GMPs, and Occupational Health and Safety Standards, just to name a few. This dedication allows us to operate a clean, healthy, and safe facility.

In addition, our facility is subject to regular inspections from the top audit firms in the food industry offering our customers the added assurance that the products they purchase are produced using the very highest standards. Our scores consistently rank in the top percentiles reflecting our exceptional focus on quality.

Mission Statement

St. Armands Baking Company is committed to supplying consistent safe, legal and quality products for consumption. As part of this commitment, all products and processes used in the manufacture of food products are subject to food safety hazard analysis based on the Codex Alimentarius guidelines to the application of a HACCP system. All employees are encouraged to focus on Continuous Improvement in the quality and value of the foods we produce and services we provide. We will meet or exceed all Federal, State, regulatory, and customer requirements, and maintain compliance with all legal requirements so that all the requirements of the Global Standard for Food Safety are being met.

Management is dedicated to provide the human and financial resources required to implement and improve the processes of the Quality Management System and the Food Safety Plan.

We will maintain the highest standard of integrity and ethical conduct. We will meet all criteria that are necessary to assure product quality and Food Safety for all customers, everyday in every unit we produce.
